Have you ever been triggered by a triggerfish? I didn’t even know what a triggerfish was until this dive. It was a super tame encounter compared to some of the stories I’ve heard since this dive, but this grumpy creature made a lasting impression and I’m now (probably overly) cautious whenever I see them. They make me nervous with those glary eyes.

This was the third dive on my first day exploring Komodo National Park’s exquisite underwater adventure. The entire day was magical. Crystal Rock is named after its crystal clear water, and as I’m sure you can see, it’s pretty darn special.

You get extra cyber high fives if you can spot both scorpionfish playing like a rock in the video.

TOP TIP: I highly recommend Blue Marlin Dive if you’re planning on diving in Komodo. The team is incredibly professional and just generally rad to be around, and I would suggest staying on their hop-on hop-off liveaboard to get the most out of your time (and money) there. While I didn’t stay on the liveaboard myself (because I didn’t know any better), if or when I go back, that’s where you’ll find me.
