The reef at the edge of Cocoon’s lagoon looked about half way to the horizon from my villa, maybe a little less. Someone told me it’s 350m away. It’s definitely not. It felt like 10km. But it’s not. Probably more like 2km because #funfact : at sea level, the horizon is about 4.7km away.

What I do know for sure is that it was entirely worth the effort swimming out there, despite the current and veering off course repeatedly on the way there (which is why it felt like 10km), having to swim my ass off into a crazy little storm on the way back, and being gone long enough for people to start wondering if they should consider calling a search party.

I decided to edit the extra clip below because it was just too beautiful dancing along with this exquisite blue crew and it worked so perfectly with this gorgeous soundtrack.
